Day Rate starts at 5 hours.

Member's Off-Peak : 50% Discount - From 8pm to 8am Monday to Friday and all day Saturday & Sunday

Booking notes

    • Above prices are for online bookings.

    • Reschedule current bookings anytime online.

    • Cancel current bookings anytime online with full credit with more than 72 hours notice.

    • Manual bookings / alterations not using the online form attract a $50 charge per update.

    • Regular and ongoing bookings, please contact us for quoted rate.

    • The AHBC terms apply to all booking.

    • If you intend to use equipment away from the centre, the day rate applies. You will need to contact us to discuss your requirement in advance.

WiFi & Printers

To use any of the printers at the centre or to access high speed internet, connect to the AHBC access point. The password can be found on table-top signs or passage display.

The Sony Camcorder MTS file

The Sony Camcorder in the media centre producers Advanced Video Coding, High Definition format files with the file extension of .mts. To open the .mts file on your computer, double-clicking it. If your file associations are set up correctly, the application that's meant to open your .mts file will open it. It's possible you may need to download or purchase the correct application. The one file will contain all recording clips as a group.

Applications that open a MTS file.

  • Apple iMovie, Finial Cut Pro and QuickTime

  • Microsoft Windows Media Player, Nullsoft Winamp Media Player 5.6 with WinAHX plug-in

Once you have topped, tailed and edited your video clips using one of the above application, export the video clip to one of the video formats. Eg MP4, FLV, MKV, MOV, AVI etc Tip: Export to a resolution that best fits the purpose. With YouTube, create video in 720p or higher. Doing so will give your videos the HD badge.

A/V Supplied Equipment

Connections and Cables - If equipment is used with the centres computers, suitable cable are supplied and are located in the store area next to the studio. If you are using your own equipment to interface with media equipment, you will need to check or supply your own cables. Equipment connections types are listed below or from the equipment manuals and visual images of connection types at the end of this page.

Be Prepared - Please discuss any requirement prior to your booking date and allow time on the day to set up and to conduct a test run.

Reporting damage - If equipment is damage or fails to operate correctly, please report to the centre manager or online.

Batteries - Spare "AA" batteries are located in the store area next to the media studio. Do Not place flat batteries with new batteries. Please discard in waste bins.

Ideal for single voice recordings via wireless connection. Provides full movement freedom with belt pack. The receiver has a standard 3.5mm x 3 connector phone male jack.

Shure BEAT 58 Microphone

High quality hand or hands-free voice recordings. Used by television studios and professional singers. Use a 3 pin XLR Male connector into microphone.

Blue Yeti Microphone

High quality recordings for meetings, interviews, webcasting, podcast. Connects directly to a computer with a standard Type "A" USB Male plug to USB Mini on the Yeti. The microphone also has a 3.5mm Phone jack socket for headphones
